Jeep once built the Commander for drivers who wanted something different. Boxy, unapologetic, and engineered with proper mechanical substance. It shares much of its architecture with the Grand Cherokee of the era but adds its own character: a larger presence, three rows, and the ability to carry people and gear while still delivering serious drivetrain capability. Like many vehicles of the mid-2000s, however, the factory calibration is conservative. Torque delivery is softened, throttle response is filtered, and the engines are operating well inside their potential. The 3.0 CRD OM642 V6 diesel is one of the most effective engines to recalibrate in the Commander platform. From the factory the engine is intentionally limited in several areas, particularly torque request and boost control in the mid-range. Our calibration revises the torque model to allow the engine to deliver the output it was originally capable of, while carefully adjusting boost pressure, injection duration, and rail pressure within safe limits. The result is a Commander that feels noticeably stronger in everyday driving. Acceleration improves, overtaking requires less effort, and the engine delivers a broader and more usable torque curve without increasing mechanical stress.

The 5.7 HEMI V8 offers a different character altogether. Smooth, naturally aspirated power combined with the unmistakable sound of a large displacement V8. Even so, factory calibrations typically leave some response and efficiency untapped. By refining ignition timing, optimizing throttle mapping, and adjusting torque management parameters, our Stage 1 calibration allows the HEMI to deliver sharper response and improved acceleration throughout the rev range. The engine retains its smooth factory behaviour but gains the kind of immediate response that suits the Commander’s strong chassis and drivetrain.
