BMW Car Club (NZ) Café Run & Race Series – A Brilliant Day at Hampton Downs
It was awesome to meet everyone at the BMW Car Club (NZ) Café Run and BMW Race Series event at Hampton Downs.
A huge thanks to everyone who made me feel so welcome. I had some great chats with fellow enthusiasts about tunes, calibration, and the performance potential of different BMW models.
Engines, Espresso, and Enthusiasm
What a day. Perfect weather, great company, and a paddock full of beautifully engineered machines. The Café Run and Race Series meeting had everything that makes this community special: passionate owners, precision-built cars, and a steady supply of good coffee.
Everywhere you looked there was something to appreciate — from immaculate E30s and E46s showcasing classic BMW elegance, to M cars built for serious track work. The variety was impressive, but the atmosphere stayed relaxed and welcoming. Exactly how a day with the BMW family should feel.
Talking Tuning and Real Performance
Throughout the day I spoke with members about tuning options for their cars — throttle calibration, torque curve refinement, drivability improvements, and how we maintain BMW’s balance between precision and performance.
The interest and enthusiasm were infectious, and it was clear that everyone shared the same passion for bringing out the best in their cars.
